Amalan sunat di bulan Muharram

Antara amalan disunatkan pada bulan Muharam:

1. Berpuasa. Maksud Hadis: Barang siapa berpuasa satu hari dalam bulan Muharam pahalanya seumpama berpuasa 30 tahun. Maksud Hadis: Barang siapa yang berpuasa tiga hari dalam bulan Muharam, iaitu hari Khamis, Jumaat dan Sabtu, Allah tulis padanya pahala seperti mana beribadat selama 2 tahun.
2. Banyakkan amal ibadat seperti solat sunat, zikir dan sebagainya.
3. Berdoa akhir tahun pada hari terakhir bulan Zulhijah selepas Asar sebanyak 3 kali
4. Berdoa awal tahun pada 1 Muharram selepas Maghrib 3 kali

Empat belas perkara sunat dilakukan pada hari Asyura (10 Muharram):

1. Melapangkan masa/belanja anak isteri. Fadilatnya - Allah akan melapangkan hidupnya pada tahun ini.
2. Memuliakan fakir miskin. Fadilatnya - Allah akan melapangkannya dalam kubur nanti.
3. Menahan marah. Fadilatnya - Di akhirat nanti Allah akan memasukkannya ke dalam golongan yang redha.
4. Menunjukkan orang sesat. Fadilatnya - Allah akan memenuhkan cahaya iman dalam hatinya.
5. Menyapu/mengusap kepala anak yatim. Fadilatnya - Allah akan mengurniakan sepohon pokok di syurga bagi tiap-tiap rambut yang disapunya.
6. Bersedekah. Fadilatnya - Allah akan menjauhkannya daripada neraka sekadar jauh seekor gagak terbang tak berhenti-henti dari kecil sehingga ia mati. Diberi pahala seperti bersedekah kepada semua fakir miskin di dunia ini.
7. Memelihara kehormatan diri. Fadilatnya - Allah akan mengurniakan hidupnya sentiasa diterangi cahaya keimanan.
8. Mandi Sunat. Fadilatnya - Tidak sakit (sakit berat) pada tahun itu. Lafaz niat: "Sahaja aku mandi sunat hari Asyura kerana Allah Taala."
9. Bercelak. Fadilatnya - Tidak akan sakit mata pada tahun itu.
10. Membaca Qulhuwallah hingga akhir 1,000 kali. Fadilatnya - Allah akan memandanginya dengan pandangan rahmah di akhirat nanti.
11. Sembahyang sunat empat rakaat. Fadilatnya - Allah akan mengampunkan dosanya walau telah berlarutan selama 50 tahun melakukannya. Lafaz niat: "Sahaja aku sembahyang sunat hari Asyura empat rakaat kerana Allah Taala." Pada rakaat pertama dan kedua selepas Fatihah dibaca Qulhuwallah 11 kali.
12. Menjamu orang berbuka puasa. Fadhilat - Diberi pahala seperti memberi sekalian orang Islam berbuka puasa.
13. Puasa. Niat - "Sahaja aku berpuasa esok hari sunat hari Asyura kerana Allah Taala." Fadilat - Diberi pahala seribu kali Haji, seribu kali umrah dan seribu kali syahid dan diharamkannya daripada neraka.

Book fair terapung kini di KK 2011!!

Jemput datang ke LogoS Hope di mana Pesta Buku terapung sedang berlangsung di Port Kota Kinabalu.

Dibuka dari 18 November 2011 - 11 December 2011.

Yuran masuk : RM1 tetapi kanak-kanak 12 tahun kebawah adalah percuma.

Masa: 10am - 10pm (Tuesday - Saturdays), 1pm - 10pm (sunday) & closed every Monday.

NOTES: Based on record, the dock in Penang showed the highest number of visitors with 121 203, followed by Port Klang with 92, 528 visitors, and in Kuching the number of visitors up till November 10 was 86,000.

Book Review : The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Kathryn Stockett, who was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, was inspired by her close childhood relationship with her family's black maid to write The Help. Her debut novel tells the story of privileged families in Jackson and the black women who work as maids and nannies for the families but live in a separate part of town and are segregated from whites in so many ways. 

One story is particularly moving; a woman whose own son was tragically killed in an accident lovingly dedicates herself to raising the children of the white families she works for. The close relationships formed between "the help" and these families is constantly contradicted by the enforced segregation and blatant racism on a society-wide and an individual level. The absurdity of the situation becomes clear to one young white woman who is used to defying society's expectations for her own role by yearning for a job in New York City rather than a husband.

The Help is told in the alternating narratives of the various women. The story is powerful because it doesn't get lost in big, sweeping points about the era but rather focuses on a nuanced portrait of individual characters, and of the horrors and blessings that come from these complicated racial relationships.

Note: When I was working at Popular Bookstore CP as a management trainee this books took my attention even though I never read it but I know it was a good book indeed. Now it have a movie!! So here you are enjoy~ 

Malaysia Art Book Fair 2011

Pesta Buku Seni (BSVN)Malaysia pertama 2011 untuk Balai Seni Visual Negara (BSVN) yang akan berlangsung dari 01 hingga 15 Disember 2011, mempersembahkan pilihan penerbitan karya seni bermutu tinggi. Pesta ini akan mencerminkan praktis terkini dan perkembangan amalan seni terbaru melalui pemilihan sebanyak 50 penerbit dari seluruh dunia. Bahan cetak dan media digital disunting oleh penerbit bebas, para artis, majalah, institusi, sekolah seni dan studio reka bentuk grafik diketengahkan dalam edisi pertama ini.

Persidangan dan ceramah oleh penceramah utama, pelancaran buku dan sesi tandatangan oleh penulisnya, ceramah dan persembahan artis akan turut berlangsung di Pesta Buku Seni BSVN Malaysia 2011 ini. Satu siri unik jadual berkurator yang menawarkan pemilihan penerbitan dan juga poster. Perhatian khusus diberikan kepada akademi-akademi seni dan reka bentuk yang berkenaan dengan penerbitan, mereka dijemput untuk membentangkan penerbitan dan siri kuliah terkini. Kemasukan ke Pesta Buku Seni Malaysia 2011 adalah percuma.

Pesta Buku Seni Malaysia 2011 ini dimulakan dan dianjurkan oleh Balai Seni Visual Negara, Malaysia.

Calling for Productivity Photography Contest 2011

How to Participate:

1. Entrants may send in as many entries in either analog or digital format or both.
2. Processing and printing cost of images and delivery costs (if any) will be borne by the entrants.
3. All entries on digital or analog submitted with size of 5R must be printed on ‘Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper’ which are available at all FDI Stations (Fujifilm Digital Imaging), FIP (Fuji Image Plaza) outlets and Fujifilm Dealers.
    

Rules and Regulations:

1. The contest is open to all students and residents of Malaysia except employees of Malaysia Productivity Corporation, FUJIFILM (M) Sdn Bhd. and their advertisers.
2. The theme is “Greener Living”. Photographers must capture image that reflects the daily application of the 3R concept (Re Cycle, Re Use, Reduce) reducing in less wastage, cost saving, energy saving, less reject and environmentally friendly and productive practices.
3. Photographers may use digital or analog cameras.
4. Those using analog cameras must use Fujicolor film. Prints (analog & digital) submitted must be in 5R size and printed on Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper.
5. Photograph/s submitted is/are not returnable and all entries shall remain the property of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) who retains the right to reproduce, publish or exhibit them without notification or payment to the photographers.
6. Photograph/s submitted for the contest must not have won prizes in any other contest or published elsewhere.
7. Photograph/s must be submitted with the entry form. Students must have their prints endorsed by the School, College or University Administrator. Entry forms may be photocopied.
8. A photographer may submit any number of entries and the photograph/s must be snapped in Malaysia. However, the participant will qualify for ONE of the prizes only. The judges have the option to change the judging criteria and the prizes without notice.
9. Prints will be judged on the basis of compositions, clarity, content, colour and the appropriateness of the caption to the image.
10. Photograph/s must not be edited or retouched, digital super imposition, composite photographs, photo montage, trick photographs, digital imaging and image manipulations. The organizers shall not be responsible for photograph/s damaged or lost during mail. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
11. In every submission, the participants hereby agree to indemnify MPC as the Organiser from any third party monetary claims or otherwise.
12. The winners will be notified and they must submit the appropriate negatives or CD ROM (for digital pictures) before the prizes are  confirmed. Failure to do this will result in their entries being rejected.
13. The decision of the judges is final and no queries on the results will be entertained.
14. All prizes must be collected personally.
15. Winner will be notified by e-mail or by letter or by phone.
